This way the cat can't get hit by a cat or go destroy something on someone else's property. Cats love the nighttime and are truly more nocturnal. A cat's vision work's like night vision goggles and they can see very well at night even though they are short-sighted with about 20/100 to 20/200 vision if compared to a human's vision. And since cats love to climb, a cat tree is a great thing for them. Of course most cats love to chase the infamous "red dot" that can never be caught.
